There seems to be three ways to respond:
1- Comment on the same post
2- Email the commenter
3- Leave a comment on his/her blog
I have my preferences for various reasons, but I'd like to know:
When you leave a comment on a blog, how do you like being responded too?

Great question! Hmmm...I guess I like emailing someone back when they leave me a comment. So I also like it when someone emails me. If it's just a nice comment on their post, I don't really expect any response.

ReplyDeleteI saw your post over at Arlee's (I think) and dropped by, I've got used to my favourite bloggers leaving a comment on their blog comments bit. What works really well though is when the blogger explains their personal process in the "post a comment" welcome wording, so I know what to expect. I wish the people who never respond at all would do that, and I wouldn't bother commenting. (that sounds really grumpy, but I hope you know what I mean) Sue

Mindy, That's a great way to look at it! If someone has a direct question, or is engaging in conversation beyond a nice "hello" I definitely like the idea of emailing them, but otherwise I think it's okay to let things be!
